With the lack of posts for 2015 one would assume that I am painting far less these days. But that couldn’t be farther from the truth, I am, in fact painting more than ever. Paintings take much longer for me to complete, and many finished paintings will just have to remain personal exercises.
A continuation of paintings of Mannequins in store windows on Upper Haight Street.
Backpacking in Washington State in the fall. Absolutely amazing fall colors, it actually looked unearthly at times.
Haight street is my closest neighborhood and haunt. Murio’s is at the far end near Amoeba Records. Go there on a Friday night when Nick is bartending.
I kept this painting loose and painterly, I like that.
I am really pleased with the colors on this small plein air painting:
I took my plein air equipment on a European vacation.
In my day job, I’m an animator at a game company in Sausalito. Every lunchtime I steal away into the hills and do a quick one hour plein air study. I painted this one particular spot so many times thru out the seasons. I assembled the best ones into this collage, the earliest one is in the bottom right (note the high chroma colors).
This is actually a painting from last year. I sanded it down this year, and now I really like it.
